Happy March! As we enter the month of March, we have several important occasions to recognize and celebrate. Firstly, March is Women's History Month, a time to honor the countless contributions and achievements of women throughout history and in contemporary society. It's a time to recognize the progress that has been made towards gender equality and to acknowledge the work that still needs to be done.

In addition, March 8th is International Women's Day, a global day of recognition and celebration of women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. This year's theme is "Embrace Equity" which emphasizes the importance of creating a more inclusive world where everyone can enjoy the same opportunities and access to resources.

In the last five years, Gear Patrol has grown tremendously especially with women in the workplace.

  • In 2018, 6 out of 38 (15.79%) Gear Patrol employees were female.

  • Today, in 2023, 18 out of 45 (40%) Gear Patrol employees are female.

I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the importance of these occasions and to consider ways in which we can all contribute to creating a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture. Let's continue to celebrate diversity and to support each other as we work towards achieving our goals.

Fast Five with Jeni Arbuckle

Where do you live now and where are you originally from?

I’m from Iowa City, IA and lived in Austin for 5 years before finding my home here in Denver. I love Colorado! What's your favorite thing to do on Saturday morning?

In the warmer months, I’m ideally waking up in my Tacoma’s rooftop tent (soon to be Campervan if things go to plan!) and having some morning coffee with my partner and friends before heading out for a mountain bike ride. In the winter, I try to stay in a mountain town like Steamboat Springs if I’m planning to ski (ski traffic is pretty nuts here) and will either hit a resort or do a backcountry tour to get out and enjoy the snow and sunshine until summer comes back around.

Is there something you've been obsessed with lately?

Definitely planning adventures and trips for the year ahead! This includes smaller weekend getaways to Moab, an upcoming work trip to Asheville & LA, biking in Oaxaca with friends, and a bigger international trip as well — now taking travel tips for either Morocco or Argentina! How do you stay motivated or energized for work?

I’m very motivated by the energy and stoke of others around me. Getting that connection from teammates takes a bit of extra effort with being remote, so anytime I can get someone on a huddle, slack chat, GoogleMeet, send a funny gif, etc. I’m happy. Please hit me up if we haven’t met yet and give me a shout anytime you want to talk through out of the box ideas, problem solve, share a cool article, or just catch up!What's your Myers-Briggs personality?

ENFJ (or Enneagram 7, if you’re into that!) This Thought Catalogue piece sums up my Myers-Briggs pretty well. Group hug, anyone?

Where are you currently working from?

I work best when I’m out of the house (no all-day PJ’s for this girl, sadly) so I work out of GreenSpaces — a locally owned coworking space here in Denver. Here’s a clip of my desk. If you watch closely, you can catch a glimpse of a snoozing pup that I fostered last summer :)

Lastly, on March 3rd, we celebrate Employee Appreciation Day. This is a special day to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of everyone at Gear Patrol. It is a chance to show our gratitude for all that you do, and to express our commitment to supporting you in your personal and professional growth.

Take a moment to feel inspired by the achievements we have accomplished together. The success of our organization is a testament to the dedication and commitment of each and every one of you.

Let's use this day as an opportunity to reflect on the positive impact that we can have when we work together towards a common goal. Let's be inspired by each other's strengths and celebrate our accomplishments as a team. And most importantly, let's continue to support and appreciate one another, not only tomorrow but every day.

Any Inspiration requests? P&C is on it. Ping Danielle.
