Happy March! As we approach International Women's Day on March 8th, it's a momentous occasion for us to come together and celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in our workplace and beyond. This year's theme, "Investing in Women: Accelerating Progress," resonates deeply with our values and aspirations as an organization. At Gear Patrol, we are committed to investing in women's learning and development. We are serious about advancing women in the workplace and recognize the immense value women bring to our teams. We are dedicated to providing them with every opportunity to grow and succeed. This may involve internal training with your manager, working on strategic growth projects, experiencing coaching and real-time feedback sessions, and even external opportunities for networking and skill-building.As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's renew our commitment to creating a workplace where every woman feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach her full potential. Let's continue championing diversity, equity, inclusivity, and belonging in everything we do, knowing that investing in women accelerates progress for all.I invite each of you to join us in commemorating this important day and in honoring the extraordinary women who inspire us every day. Let's celebrate the past, embrace the present, and pave the way for a brighter future for women everywhere. And, tell me: What woman inspires you? How has she impacted you, personally or professionally?

Where do you live now and where are you originally from?

Growing up as an Army brat and then marrying an Air Force pilot makes this question a bit complicated. I currently live in Del Rio, TX, but I think I have tallied up eight states of residence. It’s safe to say that I have gotten pretty good at packing a Uhaul. What's your favorite thing to do on Saturday morning?

Del Rio’s best feature is Lake Amistad, which is comfortably swimmable most of the year. So, on an ideal Saturday morning, you will find me out on the water ASAP.

Is there something you've been obsessed with lately?

I have two things that come to mind. First off is this hat that I got customized while on a recent trip to Fredericksburg, TX. I can assure you that this thing is on my head half the time I walk out of the house. My second obsession is Billy Joel’s new song. I have always been a big fan, but I am particularly excited because this is the first time he has released a new pop single in my lifetime. Hey Alexa, queue

How do you stay motivated or energized for work?

Getting some sun or stepping outside usually does the trick for me. While I typically take calls at my desk, I can often be found sitting on my back patio multitasking (photosynthesizing and working).Do you have any secret skills or talents we should know about?

While I wouldn’t say there is much talent behind this one, I have always loved to skateboard! It is an ideal stress reliever and provides some solid cardio if you are doing a long haul.

Inspiration: Goal Tracking

Everything can be communicated better, including goal tracking. If you only communicate about goals when completed, you miss out on a huge opportunity!Goals should be communicated in all their stages, including:

  • When you are setting them

  • When they are finalized

  • When they are being worked on

  • When they are completed

Don't confine your discussions to mere endpoints; instead, embrace the entirety of the goal-setting process. Imagine a vibrant symphony of voices, each contributing to the harmonious melody of progress. From the initial spark of an idea to the triumphant crescendo of achievement, a treasure trove of insights is waiting to be uncovered. When communication flows freely, magic happens. It's not just about checking off boxes on a to-do list; it's about cultivating an environment where every voice is valued and heard.

  • What strategies are proving effective?

  • Where do adjustments need to be made?

  • Are our aspirations firmly rooted in reality, or do they soar beyond reach?

These are the questions that lead us to profound breakthroughs! Let’s begin to talk about goals weekly because it fosters an environment of learning and creates a space for all to collectively talk about challenges to accomplish goals, lessons learned, and resources needed.Any Inspiration requests? P&C is on it. Ping Danielle.
