A Note From Danielle:
Happy February! As we embark on a new month, I want to remind everyone of the importance of staying focused and working hard to achieve our goals. February is a great time to take stock of where we are and make a plan for where we want to be in the coming months.
As we celebrate Black History Month, we take the opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of Black individuals throughout history. This is a time to celebrate their unique cultures, history and heritage, and to acknowledge the challenges they have faced and overcome.
Personally, I love finding products with the ByBlack certification, specifically, the Twin Flames Liquid Eyeshadow by Danessa Myricks Beauty. I would love to know if you have a favorite black-owned product!

Where do you live now and where are you originally from?
I actually moved back to my hometown, San Antonio, Texas about 7 months ago. I love being closer to family and friends in the area. San Antonio has the best tex-mex food and barbeque in Texas! But for college, I lived in NYC for 4 years while attending Pace University!
What's your favorite thing to do on Saturday morning?
Going out and picking up a cup of coffee! My current go-to is a cold brew with cream from Dutch Bros. Or I’ll get an iced coffee from Dunkin! And I also like trying new breakfast places every weekend, downtown San Antonio has so many new spots!
Is there something you've been obsessed with lately?
I adopted a cat from a shelter about 5 months ago and I have been obsessed with her ever since! Her name is Zelda and I absolutely love spoiling her, I think I go shopping for her every weekend. She hasn’t made any cameos in meetings yet but I’m sure she will be seen in the future!
How do you stay motivated or energized for work?
Getting up early and having a routine. I feel like this helps me feel more ready and energized for the day! And of course, making a cup of coffee. I didn’t mean for most of my answers to be centered around coffee, but if anyone has seen Gilmore Girls, Lorelai’s obsession with coffee, well that’s me!
What advice would you give your past self?
One piece of advice I would give to my past self is: learn how to change a tire!

Rather than just judging or checking out of the next bad gathering you’re at, I invite you to get curious, get observant, and see if you might transform how you’re spending your limited time together.In order to shift how people gather:
Show some science. I encourage you to check the Project Aristotle Google study on psychological safety. This will help you listen as a team and provide space to introduce a shift.
